After decades of flat or low growth, nationwide electricity demand is forecast to increase by 78% between 2023 and 2050. This rapid growth stems from the expansion of data centers, increased domestic manufacturing, and the electrification of transportation and buildings. As a result, electricity costs are increasing sharply causing many people to struggle to pay utility bills. Distributed energy, such as solar, can deliver value to customers and help grow the U.S. energy supply to meet increasing needs at a low cost. As energy demand increases, local governments play a pivotal role in removing barriers to solar installations while ensuring safe energy options for their residents and businesses.
Join us to learn how the SolSmart program can help local governments in these efforts! SolSmart is celebrating 10 years of providing free technical assistance and best practices to local governments.
